Baum reinforces the maple with a proprietary process the company rates at 800 lbs stronger than standard wood, so the bat holds up to game use while keeping the sound and feel hitters expect from a wood bat.
The turn model is a hybrid, pulling the balanced feel of the industry-standard 110 together with barrel characteristics borrowed from the 243 and 273 turns. The barrel measures 2.505", the maximum allowed diameter, and swings balanced rather than end-loaded. The knob is a standard shape and the barrel end is left uncupped.
